One of the fastest growing BMS controls contractors in NY/NJ/CT, is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Director of Service to lead our service department and ensure the seamless delivery of maintenance, repair, and support services for our controls projects (new install, retrofits, and upgrades). The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in BMS controls and a proven track record of managing service operations in the building automation industry.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the service department, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.
- Develop and implement service strategies to optimize the performance, reliability, and efficiency of building management systems for our clients.
- Oversee the planning and execution of service projects, including maintenance schedules, system upgrades, and troubleshooting activities.
- Manage a team of service technicians, engineers, and support staff, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure a high level of technical expertise and customer service.
- Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to develop comprehensive service proposals, project plans, and cost estimates for potential clients and projects.
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients, addressing their service needs, resolving any issues, and identifying opportunities for additional services or system enhancements.
- Stay updated with the latest developments and trends in the BMS control industry, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance our service offerings.
- Monitor and analyze service performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to ensure service delivery meets or exceeds company standards.
- Manage the departmental budget, ensuring cost-effective service delivery while maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related experience. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in the building automation industry, with a strong focus on BMS controls and service operations.
- Proven leadership experience in managing a service department, including overseeing a team of service technicians and engineers.
- Excellent technical knowledge of building automation systems, controls, protocols, and integration methods.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in project management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to building automation systems and controls.
